In the 33rd minute, Nacho Madrigal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and John Azpilcueta made a kick off. Pedro Monterroso came out of the goal and Nacho Madrigal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dueta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Apocalypto the free kick. After a rather tough play, Dueta's Wilmer Morante got a free kick in the 86th minute. Evelio Duyos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alejandro Zornoza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cántaro Peñalba having to interfere. Apocalypto's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
