EMELEC booed when UD Pescadillo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gonzales Iranzo in the 56th minute of play forced UD Pescadillo's goalkeeper Joaquin Muguia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to UD Pescadillo getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Texeira Achiaga hit a great ball. Enrique Ruidiaz missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 65 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Joaquin Muguia right hand side. When Corozo Ruesga came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the CS. EMELEC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Corozo Ruesga couldn't finish the play. Marco Mandojana kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Armando Alas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Franklin Barrena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fortunato Albizua charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
