Gunners's Espínola Saribiarte played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Blandón Gorron in the 21st minute of play. 22 minutes into the game, Garrido Socorro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gunners's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave DANN FC the free kick. The supporters of DANN FC booed when Gunners was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Garrido Socorro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Blandón Gorron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Espínola Saribiarte having to interfere. If Walter Gou had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 28 played minutes Gunners got a freekick which was hit by Diego Treceño. 30 minutes into the match, Gunners's goal looked a bit too open when Blandón Gorron came free, but Espínola Saribiarte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Walter Gou might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Espínola Saribiarte. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Walter Gou ran back to his position shaking his head. Blandón Gorron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Espínola Saribiarte having to interfere. A hard shot 47 in the game by Walter Gou from a close distance when the talented Espínola Saribiarte managed to make a qualified save. Gunners's players were relieved. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Xzavaier Echavarria stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Antonio Pascua had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 71st minute, Walter Gou got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 73rd match minute, Gunners was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Garrido Socorro to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Gunners's zone, Blandón Gorron stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Espínola Saribiarte came out of the goal and Blandón Gorron tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Antonio Pascua sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Xano Gatnau received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Fausto Palianza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Virila Mielgo hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Antonio Pascua sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpected shot in the 88th minute by Sergio Pesquera got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Espínola Saribiarte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Blandón Gorron, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Gunners's Xano Gatnau got a free kick in the 89th minute. In the 92nd match minute, Gunners was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricardo Coco to maneuver through the defense. Antonio Pascua's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fausto Palianza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. The Gunners supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Gunners would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
