The supporters of CD Tuncay booed when CD Cuenca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rosario Huerga didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to CD Cuenca getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Viteri Carredano hit a great ball. Batista Alaña showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcos Arcaya in the 19th minute of the match. Frutos Mendoza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. David Noriega tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to CD Cuenca getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Viteri Carredano hit a great ball. Batista Alaña didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Checa Gasca went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. David Noriega showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rosario Huerga in the 43rd minute of the match. 48 minutes into the match, Marcos Arcaya dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Batista Alaña, 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Rosario Huerga made the kick off in the second half. Marcos Arcaya took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Batista Alaña. Batista Alaña dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Batista Alaña showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cevallos Melon in the 61st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, CD Cuenca's Frutos Mendoza got a free kick in the 62nd minute. In the 65th minute, Roman Iban made a precise shot to the right of Batista Alaña. CD Cuenca's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Rosario Huergas short, quick shot in the 73rdth minute got David Noriega to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Waldemar Adamski came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the CD Cuenca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Waldemar Adamski couldn't finish the play. CD Tuncay's David Noriega played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frutos Mendoza in the 76th minute of play. Hernández Argoños sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 83 minutes into the match, CD Cuenca's goal looked a bit too open when Checa Gasca came free, but Batista Alaña reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Checa Gasca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee gave CD Tuncay a penalty, 89 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by José-Manuel Llul, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of CD Cuenca's Batista Alaña. 5-0. In the 95th match minute, CD Cuenca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrianinho Varela to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 100 minutes, Checa Gasca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CD Tuncay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Checa Gasca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. CD Tuncay fully deserved thier win.
