In the 20th minute, Cortez Hormilla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Universitario F.C.'s Edson Orol got a free kick in the 26th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pavel Teijelo got free with Xian Esqueda in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Club Deportivo Everest's zone, Javier Serra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Xian Esqueda came out of the goal and Javier Serra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marco Marquez struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Xian Esqueda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Universitario F.C.. An unexpectedly hard shot by Javier Serra in the 39th minute of play forced Club Deportivo Everest's goalkeeper Xian Esqueda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pavel Teijelo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pavel Teijelo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 49thth minute tested the skills of Xian Esqueda when he managed to save the team from getting behind.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cortez Hormilla stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Everest's goal looked a bit too open when Javier Serra came free, but Xian Esqueda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pavel Teijelo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xian Esqueda having to interfere. Javier Serra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Xian Esqueda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pavel Teijelo in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Xian Esqueda prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 67th minute Javier Serra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xian Esqueda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Javier Serra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Universitario F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Pavel Teijelo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Edson Orol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edson Orol kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Pavel Teijelo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Xian Esqueda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Xian Esqueda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Javier Serra, who was totally free with the ball in the 99th minute. Universitario F.C.'s supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
