Norberto Villarin charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Norberto Villarin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Liga de Loja booed when CD Sotillo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norberto Villarin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marques Alacan was a little too slow when Vinicio Cines got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 22nd minute. The score was now 1-1. CD Sotillo's Octavio Avalo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andres Canaria in the 26th minute of play. If Andres Canaria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Octavio Avalo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andres Canaria in the 33rd minute of play. In the 36th minute, Ubarna Balado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, CD Sotillo's Norberto Villarin got a free kick in the 47th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Andres Canaria made the kick off in the second half. If Marquez Mazo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ubarna Balados short, quick shot in the 61stth minute got Octavio Avalo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Urko Ameda made in the 75th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Ubarna Balado however managed to control. A hard shot 82 in the game by Marquez Mazo from a close distance when the talented Octavio Avalo managed to make a qualified save. CD Sotillo's players were relieved. 83 minutes into the match, Andres Canaria had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Octavio Avalo. CD Sotillo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Andres Canaria was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Ubarna Balado might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Octavio Avalo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ubarna Balado ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Liga de Loja booed when CD Sotillo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ugutz Rionda didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Liga de Loja's Hernando Ladron tried to score from far away in the 95th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 97th minute, Andres Canaria got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Liga de Loja players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
