The referee ignored Atletico Defensor's protests and gave Xaime Villarreal a yellow card for diving instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Viviano Vara in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Espinoza Godoy prevented the ball from getting in the gole. CD Pitayo's Javier Boiso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save CD Pitayo from getting a goal against them. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Atletico Defensor's goalkeeper Espinoza Godoy, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Camilo Montesinos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Javier Boiso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, CD Pitayo's Gilmar Pola got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Urtun Pañizares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Espinoza Godoy having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dannes Samaniego to make the kick off. Urtun Pañizares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to CD Pitayo getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Gilmar Pola hit a great ball. Javier Boiso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camilo Montesinos in the 58th minute of play. Camilo Montesinos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Javier Boiso having to interfere. Xzaiver Cañon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Javier Boiso having to interfere. Viviano Vara's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 73rdth minute, Espinoza Godoy skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With splendid footwork Viviano Vara arrived in front of goal to shoot 0-1 by the left pole in the game's 73rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dannes Samaniego in the 86th minute of play forced CD Pitayo's goalkeeper Javier Boiso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
