When Ismael Rubiero came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the CD Gullan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ismael Rubiero couldn't finish the play. Salomon Molfi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Francisco Zumista made a huge save. Ismael Rubiero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Salomon Molfi came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the CD Gullan fans jumped to their feet. Quito's Victoro Acuña got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Ismael Rubiero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Francisco Zumista was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. S.D. Quito's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Ismael Rubiero 28 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. A nice corner shot did that Paulo Tio got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Francisco Zumista quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Victoro Acuña kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Salomon Molfi scored 2-0 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Francisco Zumista, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ismael Rubiero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Zumista having to interfere. Salomon Molfi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Salomon Molfi struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Francisco Zumista didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CD Gullan. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Victoro Acuña to strike the kick off in the second half. If García Feijo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Victoro Acuña sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Victoro Acuña had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. S.D. Quito's Francisco Zumista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Salomon Molfi in the 61st minute of play. Luciano Domingo hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Salomon Molfi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Zumista having to interfere. Francisco Zumista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Salomon Molfi in the 71st minute of the match. If Ismael Rubiero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to S.D. Quito getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Juan Valluerca hit a great ball. If Ismael Rubiero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 82 minutes into the match, S.D. Quito's goal looked a bit too open when Peter Arzallos came free, but Francisco Zumista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Salomon Molfi in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Francisco Zumista prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ismael Rubiero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 88 minutes, García Feijo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CD Gullan and the S.D. Quito players grew even worse after the yellow card. García Feijo hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. After having played for 90 minutes, Victoro Acuña managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. S.D. Quito's supporters crossed their fingers, but Victoro Acuña was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ismael Rubiero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Francisco Zumista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 93 minutes into the match, Salomon Molfi notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of S.D. Quito's Francisco Zumista. Francisco Zumista was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. CD Gullan fully deserved thier win.
