The audience was convinced that Unai Mollinedo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Salvador Errasti was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. Through an outstanding action, after 14 minutes, Ignacio Mejia successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Paiva Lapenya's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ignacio Mejia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, UD Guallagro's goalkeeper Ignacio Mejia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paiva Lapenya. With a little luck, UD Guallagro's Ignacio Mejia got control of the ball when Paiva Lapenya tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ignacio Mejia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramirez Torres in the 24th minute of play. In the 33rd minute Ramirez Torres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ignacio Mejia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ramirez Torres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ignacio Mejia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Paiva Lapenya went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. The supporters of FC Blues booed when UD Guallagro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yánez Fuente didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ramirez Torres made a kick off. The supporters of UD Guallagro booed when FC Blues was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yiyo Jugo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 56 minutes into the game, Sergio Solana was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Blues's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave UD Guallagro the free kick. The supporters of UD Guallagro booed when FC Blues was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sergio Solana didn't get a good kick on the ball. Boris Gallano, 57 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Salvador Errasti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87thth minute of the game Ramirez Torres who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but UD Guallagro's Ignacio Mejia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramirez Torres in the 93rd minute of play forced UD Guallagro's goalkeeper Ignacio Mejia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee ended the match the FC Blues players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
