Nicolás Isasi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 6 played minutes LDU got a freekick which was hit by Julio Arruga. In the 11th minute Alarcón Videgaray shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xurdin Gabirondo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 15 in the game by Sanchez Marcos from a close distance when the talented Xerardo Corroto managed to make a qualified save. CD Mutintza's players were relieved. Sanchez Marcos's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 17thth minute, Xerardo Corroto skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a rather tough play, CD Mutintza's Omar Mora got a free kick in the 21st minute. After a defensive mix-up in CD Mutintza's zone, Sanchez Marcos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Xerardo Corroto came out of the goal and Sanchez Marcos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 25 minutes into the match, CD Mutintza's Alarcón Videgaray sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Xurdin Gabirondo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Sanchez Marcos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Xerardo Corroto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nicolás Isasi in the 29th minute. In the 37th minute, Nicolás Isasi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The LDU fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Sanchez Marcos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Xerardo Corroto made a huge save. Nicolás Isasi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Xerardo Corroto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jacinto Solares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sanchez Marcos struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Xerardo Corroto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LDU. In the 64th minute, Mariano Robledo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Xerardo Corroto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Vela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alarcón Videgaray's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Xurdin Gabirondo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. After 83 minutes, Sanchez Marcos made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. CD Mutintza's Xerardo Corroto tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Sanchez Marcos hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Xurdin Gabirondo came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by CD Mutintza's Jacinto Solares. But to his dismay, Jacinto Solares quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. 91 minutes into the game, LDU's Sanchez Marcos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Xerardo Corroto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. CD Mutintza's Xerardo Corroto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolás Isasi in the 95th minute of play.
