Spectators: 6780 (Terracing: 5100, Seating: 1680, VIP seats: 0) Maria's Mauricio Lino started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Borja Campomanes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Obregón Miña read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. With an all-out effort, UD Penipe's Fernandez Aguilar threw himself towards the right post 7 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gonzalo Montoro, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, Maria's Vimaro Velastegui got a free kick in the 8th minute. 10 minutes into the match, Maria's goal looked a bit too open when Gonzalo Montoro came free, but Fernandez Aguilar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 15th play minutes Borja Campomanes shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Obregón Miña and just under the crossbar into goal. After 18 played minutes UD Penipe got a freekick which was hit by Ximeno Mariaza. Obregón Miña stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mauricio Lino's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Borja Campomanes in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Obregón Miña prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mauricio Lino might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Obregón Miña. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mauricio Lino ran back to his position shaking his head. UD Penipe's Obregón Miña played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauricio Lino in the 28th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, UD Penipe's goal looked a bit too open when Borja Campomanes came free, but Obregón Miña reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mauricio Lino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Obregón Miña having to interfere. Obregón Miña showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mauricio Lino, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Daniel Viego's late challenge caught a Maria's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Daniel Viego helped the player get up and apologised. After 36 played minutes UD Penipe got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Viego. Ordóñez Vilamajo charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ordóñez Vilamajo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of UD Penipe booed when Maria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xzavaier Vitoria didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ximeno Mariaza took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fernandez Aguilar. Fernandez Aguilar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gonzalo Montoro made a kick off. In the 55th minute, Ordóñez Vilamajo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Borja Campomanes came free with the goalkeeper in the 57th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Obregón Miña could save by the left post. 61 minutes into the match, Borja Campomanes notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of UD Penipe's Obregón Miña. Obregón Miña was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mauricio Lino kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Borja Campomanes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 67thth minute tested the skills of Obregón Miña when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 69 minutes of play UD Penipe's Daniel Viego was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Daniel Viego hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. If Borja Campomanes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Obregón Miña didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 75th minute, which inside left pole to 1-3. When Borja Campomanes came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Maria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Borja Campomanes couldn't finish the play. UD Penipe's Gonzalo Montoro got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Maria eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
