After 3 minutes, Iachetti Ruedas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lobos F.C. and the Liga De Quito players grew even worse after the yellow card. Liga De Quito's Flavio Gambo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ximun Toraya in the 6th minute of play. Zadornin Puebla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgardo Varioz in the 9th minute of the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 13 minutes into the game, when Yader Parcerices put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Lobos F.C. fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 13th minute. Penalty! Zadornin Puebla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgardo Varioz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute Urtats Rengifo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Gambo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgardo Varioz in the 27th minute of play forced Lobos F.C.'s goalkeeper Zadornin Puebla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jose Arceo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Urtats Rengifo took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Flavio Gambo. Flavio Gambo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Jose Arceo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Zadornin Puebla made a huge save. 41 minutes into the game, Batista Polla was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lobos F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Liga De Quito the free kick. After 41 played minutes Lobos F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Batista Polla. 44 minutes into the match, Liga De Quito's goal looked a bit too open when Urtats Rengifo came free, but Flavio Gambo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edgardo Varioz was the one to do the kick off. Liga De Quito's Flavio Gambo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Liga De Quito from getting a goal against them. Ximun Toraya hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. When Santos Mollinedo came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Liga De Quito fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Santos Mollinedo couldn't finish the play. If Urtats Rengifo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Macias Olozaga kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Lobos F.C.'s Zadornin Puebla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bottero Bonjoch in the 69th minute of play. The supporters of Liga De Quito booed when Lobos F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Batista Polla didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zadornin Puebla came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Liga De Quito's Jose Arceo. But to his dismay, Jose Arceo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. The audience was convinced that Bottero Bonjoch's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zadornin Puebla was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. Edgardo Varioz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Zadornin Puebla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Santos Mollinedo's late challenge caught a Lobos F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Santos Mollinedo helped the player get up and apologised. Santos Mollinedo hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match.
