In the 15th minute Jorge Melcon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guamán Colina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Omar Berinduaga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Omar Berinduaga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Agunaga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Manipili's Ordóñez Vellosillo got a free kick in the 21st minute. Rolando Agunaga had great luck who in the 22ndth minute grab hold of the ball when Omar Berinduaga from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Guamán Colina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. John Sombredo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Rolando Agunaga made a huge save. If Jorge Melcon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 36th minute of the match Ordóñez Vellosillo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Guamán Colina showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Armando Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guamán Colina having to interfere. Armando Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Guamán Colina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Klimovich Barquerin fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Briones FC's protests and gave Klimovich Barquerin a yellow card for diving instead. After 41 played minutes Briones FC got a freekick which was hit by Klimovich Barquerin. Manipili's Fortunato Bara was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Guamán Colina in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Guamán Colina showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Illescas in the 45th minute of the match. When Jorge Melcon came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Manipili fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Melcon couldn't finish the play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Armando Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Armando Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guamán Colina having to interfere. After 57 played minutes Briones FC got a freekick which was hit by Pablo Balbas. 62 minutes into the match, Briones FC's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Illescas came free, but Guamán Colina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Briones FC's Guamán Colina proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Briones FC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Illescas in the 66th minute of play forced Briones FC's goalkeeper Guamán Colina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Briones FC's Guamán Colina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Illescas in the 70th minute of play. Klimovich Barquerin hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Manipili's Armando Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Briones FC's goalkeeper Guamán Colina, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 96th minute, Manipili's Armando Illescas ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Guamán Colina. Guamán Colina yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3.
