Velasco Luga succeeded in the game's 4th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Xinaro Buraga during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After having played for 8 minutes, Oso Xavalera managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shuyucuchu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oso Xavalera was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 10th minute, Ascencio Corres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Shuyucuchu's Estrada Zaldos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Shuyucuchu from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Shuyucuchu booed when UD Huahualcay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan-Carlos Gorostarzu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Augusto Zuloaga's late challenge caught a UD Huahualcay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Augusto Zuloaga helped the player get up and apologised. In the 25th minute, Augusto Zuloaga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 26th minute Ascencio Corres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Estrada Zaldos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 29thth minute of the game Gerardo Torres who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but UD Huahualcay's Eugenio Borines was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Velasco Luga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Estrada Zaldos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 36 minutes, Gerardo Torres managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. UD Huahualcay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gerardo Torres was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Ascencio Corres made the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes UD Huahualcay got a freekick which was hit by Pablo Ziguenza. If Oso Xavalera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Shuyucuchu booed when UD Huahualcay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pablo Ziguenza didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Gerardo Torres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oso Cascajares hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Estrada Zaldos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Velasco Luga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th minute of the match Leonardo Lerdo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Estrada Zaldos skillfully saved the ball. Shuyucuchu's Gerardo Torres got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eugenio Borines showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oso Xavalera, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Gerardo Torres struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Eugenio Borines didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Shuyucuchu. In the 90th minute, Gerardo Torres left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Shuyucuchu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The Shuyucuchu supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Shuyucuchu would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
