Super Campeones's Fabricio Garavito got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 30th minute, Victoro Mobilla ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fiallos Izar was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Costante Nero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Espinola Barrachina charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Espinola Barrachina the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Espinola Barrachina hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Fabricio Garavito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Monge Galdeano having to interfere. Machado Osuna struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Monge Galdeano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Super Campeones. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Fabricio Garavito recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 56th minute, Roque Taboada got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fabricio Garavito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Monge Galdeano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabricio Garavito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marques Olozagoitia during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Super Campeones's Jonathan Traspuesto was substituted for Zayvion Saracho. Marques Olozagoitia kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. In the 93rd minute, Fabricio Garavito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 95 minutes into the match, Fabricio Garavito dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Monge Galdeano, 2-5. The Emelec fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Super Campeones were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
