EL NACIONAL's Mora Chavarria managed to work through CD Arroyo's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Mora Chavarria dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Machado Vado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Walter Oquerruri having to make a save. 22 minutes into the match, CD Arroyo's goal looked a bit too open when Machado Vado came free, but Walter Oquerruri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chalá Moraza succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 25th playminute. Machado Vado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Walter Oquerruri having to make a save. Machado Vado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walter Oquerruri having to interfere. Chalá Moraza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Navarro Corias made a huge save. Walter Oquerruri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Machado Vado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Machado Vado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walter Oquerruri having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Urrutia Langayo to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, CD Arroyo's goalkeeper Walter Oquerruri had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Machado Vado. Oscar Machon kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. When Klimowicz Valderramal fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.D. EL NACIONAL's protests and gave Klimowicz Valderramal a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 81 minutes, Urrutia Langayo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CD Arroyo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Urrutia Langayo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, CD Arroyo's Walter Oquerruri got control of the ball when Machado Vado tried to sneak it across the goal line. 91 minutes into the match, Urrutia Langayo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Navarro Corias. C.D. EL NACIONAL's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Urrutia Langayo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. CD Arroyo were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of C.D. EL NACIONAL for a fine match.
