After having played for 3 minutes, Kaviedes Cañas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zatzayacu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kaviedes Cañas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edgar Pedulles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugo Sagrario in the 4th minute of the match. The supporters of Zatzayacu booed when SD Aucas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celso Asturi didn't get a good kick on the ball. 6 minutes into the match, SD Aucas's goal looked a bit too open when Kaviedes Cañas came free, but Edgar Pedulles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Celso Asturi succeeded in the game's 9th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. The audience was convinced that Celso Asturi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eugenio Abajas was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. In the 28th minute Kaviedes Cañas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Pedulles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edgar Pedulles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zosimo Pando in the 29th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, SD Aucas's goal looked a bit too open when Hugo Sagrario came free, but Edgar Pedulles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Kaviedes Cañas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Zatzayacu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After 38 minutes of play, Zatzayacu's Zosimo Pando made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edgar Pedulles was left in no man's land by his defense there! Edgar Pedulles didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hugo Sagrario went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kaviedes Cañas was the one to do the kick off. Hugo Sagrario sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kaviedes Cañas in the 60th minute of play forced SD Aucas's goalkeeper Edgar Pedulles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64th minute, Hugo Sagrario ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edgar Pedulles was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-5. After 68 played minutes SD Aucas got a freekick which was hit by Xepe Fontecha. A collision led to Zatzayacu getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Noriega Inchausti hit a great ball. Edgar Pedulles was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Adrian Ovejas. Rodrigo Gondian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Hugo Sagrario blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Edgar Pedulles having to make a save. Moisés Vinegra kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Freddy Valencina hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. With a little luck, SD Aucas's Edgar Pedulles got control of the ball when Hugo Sagrario tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Zatzayacu players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
