George Morellana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adan Ticho in the 8th minute of play. Sebastian Alzorbe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Morellana having to interfere. Peter Arzallos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Morellana having to interfere. After 14 minutes, Urtsin Alzorbe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the C.A. Rio Guayas and the Johannes players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 19 played minutes, Johannes's Aloisio Presa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper George Morellana came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Johannes reached it. George Morellana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adan Ticho in the 24th minute of play. If Pablo Alonso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Adan Ticho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 34 minutes into the match, C.A. Rio Guayas's goal looked a bit too open when Adan Ticho came free, but George Morellana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to C.A. Rio Guayas getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Paco Torto hit a great ball. In the 38thth minute of the game Javier Hondon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Johannes's Xzavion Rosello was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Sebastian Alzorbe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Johannes's Adan Ticho in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye C.A. Rio Guayas's goalie prevented a goal. Sebastian Alzorbe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Javier Hondon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When the match clock showed 53 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Adan Ticho sped through C.A. Rio Guayas's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of George Morellana. With his leg George Morellana managed to avoid a goal in the 58thth minute, when Johannes's Adan Ticho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Sebastian Alzorbe came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Johannes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastian Alzorbe couldn't finish the play. In the 61st minute Adan Ticho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Morellana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Adan Ticho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but George Morellana was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. In the 65thth minute of the game Adan Ticho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C.A. Rio Guayas's George Morellana was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Adan Ticho came free with the goalkeeper in the 67th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and George Morellana could save by the left post. George Morellana made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Adan Ticho sent off a good shot on target. Adan Ticho might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over George Morellana. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Adan Ticho ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as Adan Ticho kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving George Morellana. That made the score 0-2 in the 72 minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Vitin Lugardo in the 76th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Johannes's Pablo Alonso. In the 82nd minute Javier Hondon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xzavion Rosello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Xzavion Rosello showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Javier Hondon, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. 86 minutes into the match, C.A. Rio Guayas's goal looked a bit too open when Peter Arzallos came free, but George Morellana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adan Ticho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. George Morellana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adan Ticho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pablo Alonso might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over George Morellana. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pablo Alonso ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pablo Alonso in the 91st minute of play forced C.A. Rio Guayas's goalkeeper George Morellana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 97thth minute of the game Adan Ticho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C.A. Rio Guayas's George Morellana was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Johannes's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
