Merced's Alexandro Victoria couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 74th minute. When Xabel Zubizarrieta came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Merced fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xabel Zubizarrieta couldn't finish the play. Merced walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
