After 17 played minutes CS Emelec got a freekick which was hit by José Mariani. If José Mariani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elias Rubires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jama Olave fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Candelario Turienzo having to interfere. Urdin Güega's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Americo Corbella read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. After 36 minutes, Jama Olave made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Lever Bronthers's Candelario Turienzo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 40 minutes into the match, CS Emelec's goalkeeper Americo Corbella had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tiago Gabriel de Carvalho. Candelario Turienzo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jama Olave, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jama Olave to strike the kick off in the second half. Candelario Turienzo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jama Olave, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fabio Bucesta kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. CS Emelec's Darío Leon got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 65 played minutes Lever Bronthers got a freekick which was hit by Tiago Gabriel de Carvalho. Jama Olave received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Candelario Turienzo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. CS Emelec's Jama Olave got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Candelario Turienzo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elias Rubires in the 75th minute. Americo Corbella showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiago Gabriel de Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. In the 77th match minute, CS Emelec was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardo Cañarte to maneuver through the defense. After 81 minutes, Darío Leon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CS Emelec and the Lever Bronthers players grew even worse after the yellow card. CS Emelec's supporters rose to their feet, but Elias Rubires was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Candelario Turienzo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 85 played minutes Jama Olave rounded Lever Bronthers's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-3. After 90 played minutes CS Emelec got a freekick which was hit by Darío Leon. When the final whistle sounded CS Emelec left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Lever Bronthers.
