The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Víctor Hoa who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 3rdth minute tested the skills of Adolfo Collazos when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 4 minutes, Victoriano Bolaños took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Adolfo Collazos to make any attempt to save it. Adolfo Collazos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Víctor Hoa in the 9th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Victoriano Bolaños during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Rolando Cidiel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Melendez in the 13th minute of the match. Víctor Hoa came free with the goalkeeper in the 19th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Adolfo Collazos could save by the left post. José Montejo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 24 minutes into the match, Cerro's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Melendez came free, but Rolando Cidiel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bone Sopeña fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Cidiel having to interfere. Mellington Vivanco hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Felix Melendez's late challenge caught a Cerro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felix Melendez helped the player get up and apologised. Felix Melendez hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Cerro's Rolando Cidiel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bone Sopeña in the 36th minute of play. Víctor Hoa's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Adolfo Collazos firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Felix Melendez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Cerro's zone, José Montejo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolando Cidiel came out of the goal and José Montejo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Víctor Hoa to strike the kick off in the second half. Adolfo Collazos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Víctor Hoa in the 56th minute of the match. Bone Sopeña was extremely unlucky when he, in the 59th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Fernando Cerro kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Víctor Hoa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 69 played minutes Cerro got a freekick which was hit by Zarbonin Val. Adolfo Collazos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Víctor Hoa in the 75th minute of play. In the 78th minute, Alvarez Llantada ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Adolfo Collazos was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. A collision led to UD Chives getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Felix Melendez hit a great ball. In the 84th minute, Víctor Hoa made a precise shot to the right of Adolfo Collazos. UD Chives's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Timoteo Muñiz hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. After 91 played minutes Cerro got a freekick which was hit by Mellington Vivanco. Cerro were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of UD Chives for a fine match.
