Without hesitation aimed to the right of Arturo Buffone, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After some careless play in the River Plate Ecuador defense, Bolívar Ruesga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jaramillo Caldueño. The River Plate Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jaramillo Caldueño should have stopped the shot. With 14 minutes on the clock, Zayveon Orbe commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 14th match minute, PILINOZOZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zayveon Orbe to maneuver through the defense. If Candelario Castañeda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. PILINOZOZ's Bolívar Ruesga got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Guamán Argoños had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 29th minute, Alejandro Riopedre ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arturo Buffone was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 36 minutes into the match, PILINOZOZ's Guamán Argoños sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jaramillo Caldueño narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in River Plate Ecuador's zone, Esterilla Pita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jaramillo Caldueño came out of the goal and Esterilla Pita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 39th minute, Esterilla Pita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gavino Ovando sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 45 played minutes River Plate Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Unai Valdevielso. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bolívar Ruesga to strike the kick off in the second half. Bolívar Ruesga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Jaramillo Caldueño tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in River Plate Ecuador's zone, Bolívar Ruesga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jaramillo Caldueño came out of the goal and Bolívar Ruesga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Guamán Argoños's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jaramillo Caldueño read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. Jaramillo Caldueño made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guamán Argoños in the 69th minute of play. Jaramillo Caldueño was a little too slow when Bolívar Ruesga got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 70th minute. The score was now 1-2. In the 76th minute Guamán Argoños shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaramillo Caldueño saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 78 minutes, Gomez Mareide managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River Plate Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gomez Mareide was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gomez Mareide charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gomez Mareide the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 81st match minute, River Plate Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gomez Mareide to maneuver through the defense. Guamán Argoños fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jaramillo Caldueño having to interfere. Guamán Argoños struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Jaramillo Caldueño didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PILINOZOZ. Arturo Buffone made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alejandro Riopedre in the 93rd minute of play. 94 minutes into the game, Esterilla Pita was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. PILINOZOZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave River Plate Ecuador the free kick. After 94 played minutes PILINOZOZ got a freekick which was hit by Esterilla Pita.
