The audience was convinced that Xilo Cal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vedillo Pino was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. Vedillo Pino dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The Inter de Guayaquil fans' excitement grew in the 11th match minute when Inter de Guayaquil's Xilo Cal looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Xilo Cal scored 0-3 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vedillo Pino, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 19 played minutes, Inter de Guayaquil's Enrique Rasines shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Vedillo Pino came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Inter de Guayaquil reached it. With a little luck, Inter de Guayaquil's Wilmer Aranzabal got control of the ball when Santos Vallujera tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xilo Cal in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vedillo Pino saved Macará from getting behind. Xilo Cal scored 0-4 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vedillo Pino, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Macará defense, Segundo Calvo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vedillo Pino. The Macará fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vedillo Pino should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xilo Cal in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vedillo Pino saved Macará from getting behind. If Polo Arrocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vedillo Pino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xilo Cal, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xilo Cal in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vedillo Pino saved Macará from getting behind. After having played for 45 minutes, Jacobo Rascuro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Inter de Guayaquil's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jacobo Rascuro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Xilo Cal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Xilo Cal let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 52nd minute shot 0-6 at rihgt post. Xilo Cals short, quick shot in the 56thth minute got Vedillo Pino to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Dannes Miruena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vedillo Pino having to interfere. Inter de Guayaquil's Wilmer Aranzabal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xesus Gonzalo in the 63rd minute of play. 66 minutes into the game, Xilo Cal lined in a short shot 0-7 behind a frustrated Vedillo Pino. With a little luck, Macará's Vedillo Pino got control of the ball when Xilo Cal tried to sneak it across the goal line. Santos Vallujera kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Inter de Guayaquil's Xilo Cal was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 77th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Barros Henao fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vedillo Pino having to interfere. In the 85th match minute, Macará was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Omar Blanquel to maneuver through the defense. An unexpected shot in the 86th minute by Barros Henao got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Xilo Cal received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Vedillo Pino came out and tried to block the shot, but Xilo Cal slotted it home off the left post making it 0-9 in the 88th minute. Santos Vallujera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Inter de Guayaquil's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
