Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Chican's Vermudo Badia started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Chican's Alvaro Marote played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Klimovich Bierna in the 5th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marco Lopidana got free with Jonatan Belluga in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 9th minute, Ubarna Rioseras hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Victor Salero, 10 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Klimovich Bierna blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alvaro Marote having to make a save. Marco Lopidana struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Jonatan Belluga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chican. Victor Salero's long shot made the audience stand up and applaude when it rumbled by Alvaro Marote on his right side and into the goal. 19 minutes into the game it was 0-1. 21 minutes into the match, Xandro Legarda notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Chican's Alvaro Marote. Alvaro Marote was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Vermudo Badia took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Jonatan Belluga to make any attempt to save it. Vermudo Badia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Jonatan Belluga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alvaro Marote made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Klimovich Bierna in the 42nd minute of play. Klimovich Bierna struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Alvaro Marote didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UD Jigua. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Klimovich Bierna to strike the kick off in the second half. UD Jigua's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Victor Salero in the 55th minute. Camilo Iturbide was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Camilo Iturbide's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alvaro Marote read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. In the 58th minute, Peter Mirafuentes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ovidio Villacian charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ovidio Villacian the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Vermudo Badia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Jonatan Belluga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Klimovich Bierna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Alvaro Marote tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in UD Jigua's zone, Vermudo Badia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonatan Belluga came out of the goal and Vermudo Badia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marco Lopidana in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonatan Belluga saved UD Jigua from getting behind. After some careless play in the Chican defense, Xandro Legarda kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alvaro Marote. The Chican fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alvaro Marote should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Chican booed when UD Jigua was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Urdaspal Loranza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonatan Belluga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Polo Bergada in the 96th minute of play. Xandro Legarda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 99th minute of the match, but Alvaro Marote made a huge save. The Chican supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching UD Jigua's performance. The match ended with a win for UD Jigua.
