Paco Monteverde kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. If Marques Andrada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valdo Varsana might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joel Villena. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Valdo Varsana ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 18th minute, Valdo Varsana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Real Ambato's Bottero Navaes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pablo-Enrique Urrea in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Victor Copeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mauro Caceo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bottero Navaes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. After 34 played minutes Luis Viera SC got a freekick which was hit by Manolo Cobian. After 37 minutes, Cortez Medel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Luis Viera SC and the Real Ambato players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cortez Medel hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Paco Monteverde's late challenge caught a Real Ambato's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paco Monteverde helped the player get up and apologised. Paco Monteverde kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mauro Caceo to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54thth minute of the game Marques Andrada who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Luis Viera SC's Joel Villena was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luis Viera SC's Joel Villena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marques Andrada in the 59th minute of play. In the 61st minute Valdo Varsana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Villena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joel Villena was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Joel Villena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdo Varsana in the 86th minute of the match. Real Ambato's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Vigil Alastuey in the 88th minute. Joel Villena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdo Varsana in the 90th minute of play. Valdo Varsana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Villena having to interfere. Paredes Carredano hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Valdo Varsana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Real Ambato fully deserved thier win.
