In the 2nd minute, one of UD Machala:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for UD Machala. The referee gave Fabiola FC a penalty, 5 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Videl Daza, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of UD Machala's Ysmael Laguna. 0-1. In the 14th minute Videl Añoza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ysmael Laguna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 21st minute by Jose Pañeda got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After having played for 27 minutes, Jose Pañeda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. UD Machala's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jose Pañeda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Xzaiver Arriaga might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Blanco Berrez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Xzaiver Arriaga ran back to his position shaking his head. Jose Pañeda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Blanco Berrez made a huge save. Blanco Berrez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jose Pañeda in the 43rd minute. If Videl Añoza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Videl Añoza made a kick off. Ysmael Laguna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Videl Añoza, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. In the 58th minute, Videl Añoza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Jairo Parserises had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Xzaiver Arriaga succeeded in the game's 76th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Xzaiver Arriaga managed to get in a good position for a shot. UD Machala's supporters rose to their feet, but Xzaiver Arriaga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Blanco Berrez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Fabiola FC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Videl Daza hit a great ball. When De-Jesús Pueyo came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the UD Machala fans jumped to their feet. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Videl Añoza in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ysmael Laguna prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 94th match minute, UD Machala was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Quiñónez Paradelo to maneuver through the defense. UD Machala were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Fabiola FC for a fine match.
