Esteban Zalvide ran back to his position shaking his head. After 30 played minutes Shalapa SC got a freekick which was hit by Lucas Retana. Marcos Jurgi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zayvius Somoza, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. If Esteban Zalvide had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcos Jurgi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reyes Teigeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Samuel Zermeño kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Marcos Jurgi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Reyes Teigeiro in the 46th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Esteban Zalvide to make the kick off. After 51 played minutes CD Shiramentza got a freekick which was hit by Genaro Simon. If Ulises Murillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as CD Shiramentza's Zayvius Somoza slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marcos Jurgi. That made the score 1-2 after 74 minutes of play. Jerson Orta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Marques Roiz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in CD Shiramentza's zone, Denis Rocafort stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marques Roiz came out of the goal and Denis Rocafort tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 93 minutes into the game, Roberto Mesia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CD Shiramentza's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Shalapa SC the free kick. After 93 played minutes CD Shiramentza got a freekick which was hit by Roberto Mesia. After a rather tough play, CD Shiramentza's Pinto Betances got a free kick in the 97th minute. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Shalapa SC lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
