Romeo Romero came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by San Fransisco de Quito's Jacobo Ascargorta. But to his dismay, Jacobo Ascargorta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Romeo Romero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aurelio Fontanez in the 16th minute of the match. Romeo Romero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurelio Fontanez, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 21st minute of the match San Fransisco de Quito got a corner. Barcelona S.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rafael Aranzabe ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 27th minute, Jacobo Ascargorta left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The San Fransisco de Quito fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vigil Baptista made a kick off. Romeo Romero made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Urtats Robezo sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of San Fransisco de Quito booed when Barcelona S.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentine Boiso didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 58 minutes Barcelona S.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rafael Aranzabe who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Rafael Aranzabe got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Romeo Romero quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 1-2 became the score in the 60th minute when Humberto Oña elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. A hard shot 72 in the game by Urtats Robezo from a close distance when the talented Romeo Romero managed to make a qualified save. Barcelona S.C.'s players were relieved. In the 76th minute, Aurelio Fontanez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The San Fransisco de Quito fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurelio Fontanez in the 79th minute of play forced Barcelona S.C.'s goalkeeper Romeo Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to San Fransisco de Quito getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Rafael Aranzabe hit a great ball. Barcelona S.C.'s Humberto Oña got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the San Fransisco de Quito defense, Vigil Baptista kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Freddy Cañas. The San Fransisco de Quito fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Freddy Cañas should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Humberto Oña in the 97th minute of play forced San Fransisco de Quito's goalkeeper Freddy Cañas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. San Fransisco de Quito played a much better game than Barcelona S.C. and deserved their victory. The Barcelona S.C. players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
