DREAM TEAM FC's Cotera Salceda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilson Teles in the 8th minute of play. Francisco Betzanos struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Uhin Cedeno didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for DREAM TEAM FC. After a defensive mix-up in DREAM TEAM FC's zone, Gilson Teles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cotera Salceda came out of the goal and Gilson Teles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luzuriaga Meja received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Cotera Salceda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cotera Salceda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilson Teles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 31 minutes into the game, Luzuriaga Meja was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C.S. Emelec's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave DREAM TEAM FC the free kick. In the 31st minute, Luzuriaga Meja hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cotera Salceda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilson Teles in the 33rd minute of the match. Cotera Salceda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cornelio Churruca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Faustino Landeros fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored DREAM TEAM FC's protests and gave Faustino Landeros a yellow card for diving instead. Faustino Landeros kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Gilson Teles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cotera Salceda having to interfere. In the 43rd minute Hugo Noriega suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Gilson Teles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 43 minutes, Gilson Teles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the C.S. Emelec and the DREAM TEAM FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of DREAM TEAM FC booed when C.S. Emelec was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilson Teles didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 48thth minute of the game Gilson Teles who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but DREAM TEAM FC's Cotera Salceda was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gilson Teles to strike the kick off in the second half. Uhin Cedeno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Betzanos in the 54th minute of the match. Rodney Ximeno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cotera Salceda having to interfere. Gilson Teles took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cotera Salceda. Cotera Salceda dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. If Gilson Teles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 68 minutes into the match, DREAM TEAM FC's goalkeeper Cotera Salceda had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luzuriaga Meja. Cotera Salceda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cornelio Churruca, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. 71 minutes into the match, Gilson Teles dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Cotera Salceda, 0-2. Cotera Salceda came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by C.S. Emelec's Gilson Teles. But to his dismay, Gilson Teles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Gilson Teles took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Cotera Salceda to make any attempt to save it. In the 85th minute, Gilson Teles left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The C.S. Emelec fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. In the 88th minute, Francisco Betzanos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 89 minutes into the match, Gilson Teles dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Cotera Salceda, 0-6. 93 minutes into the game, Ubarna Casadevante was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. DREAM TEAM FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C.S. Emelec the free kick. After 93 played minutes DREAM TEAM FC got a freekick which was hit by Ubarna Casadevante. When the final whistle sounded C.S. Emelec left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than DREAM TEAM FC.
