An unexpectedly hard shot by Zabal Antoñana in the 13th minute of play forced Liga de Ecuador's goalkeeper Perez Lasalde to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Claudinei Severo came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Warriors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Claudinei Severo couldn't finish the play. Perez Lasalde showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zabal Antoñana in the 23rd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Claudinei Severo in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Perez Lasalde saved Liga de Ecuador from getting behind. In the 30th minute Zabal Antoñana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Perez Lasalde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Claudinei Severo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zabal Antoñana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Reynaldo Delgado kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Claudinei Severo in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Perez Lasalde saved Liga de Ecuador from getting behind. After 42 minutes, Juan Agustin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Liga de Ecuador and the Warriors players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 42 played minutes Liga de Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Juan Agustin. Romero Donallo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Otto Lindqvist made a huge save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Claudinei Severo made a kick off. Liga de Ecuador's Perez Lasalde proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Liga de Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Rosendo Nofre's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Perez Lasalde read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Zabal Antoñana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Warriors's supporters rose to their feet, but Zabal Antoñana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Perez Lasalde breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Claudinei Severo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 62nd minute of the match, Claudinei Severo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Perez Lasalde saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a defensive mix-up in Liga de Ecuador's zone, Rosendo Nofre stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Perez Lasalde came out of the goal and Rosendo Nofre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Claudinei Severo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Claudinei Severo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Perez Lasalde tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 79th match minute, Warriors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xulio Leys to maneuver through the defense. 81 minutes into the match, Liga de Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Claudinei Severo came free, but Perez Lasalde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zabal Antoñana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Liga de Ecuador fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Warriors were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
