In the 18th minute Carcelén Varona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dobromir Jaraczeski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mompiche's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erick Guardo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Salcedo's goalkeeper Dobromir Jaraczeski, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 45 minutes into the game, Mompiche's Carcelén Varona nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dobromir Jaraczeski made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Erick Guardo to make the kick off. Dobromir Jaraczeski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
