In the 7th match minute, Avila FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jerson Sotilla to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Avila FC booed when BARCELONA S.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Uxio Urquijo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Dominguez Ayala managed to get in a good position for a shot. Avila FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dominguez Ayala was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Xzavier Sorriva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 29th minute, Uxio Urquijo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Iván Blasco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 32nd minute, Hugo Almonte hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to BARCELONA S.C. getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Xamo Aeta hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Avila FC's zone, Iván Blasco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Calderón Cezuago came out of the goal and Iván Blasco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 45 minutes into the match, BARCELONA S.C.'s Iván Blasco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Calderón Cezuago narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 46 minutes into the match, Avila FC's goal looked a bit too open when Iván Blasco came free, but Calderón Cezuago reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Calderón Cezuago took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Uxio Urquijo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dominguez Ayala was the one to do the kick off. Uxio Urquijo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Calderón Cezuago read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. If Uxio Urquijo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Calderón Cezuago took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iván Blasco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Iván Blasco kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Calderón Cezuago. That made the score 0-1 in the 61 minute of play. Xzavier Sorriva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mario Illan in the 67th minute of the match. Avila FC's Calderón Cezuago proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Avila FC from getting a goal against them. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Avila FC's goalkeeper Calderón Cezuago, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 80th minute Iván Blasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Calderón Cezuago saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 81 played minutes Avila FC got a freekick which was hit by Xzavaier Granell. Calderón Cezuago made an important save on a dangerous shot by Uxio Urquijo in the 86th minute. Dominguez Ayala received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Xzavier Sorriva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Calderón Cezuago managed to avoid a goal in the 95thth minute, when BARCELONA S.C.'s Uxio Urquijo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
