In the 28th minute of the match Peter Escalona sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Macias Herrasti skillfully saved the ball. Zabal Barnuevo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bolívar Horcajo having to interfere. In the 36th minute, Aurelio Leiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 39th minute, Xever Ruidiez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fleitas Lemus took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bolívar Horcajo. Bolívar Horcajo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in CD Huertopamba's zone, Zabal Barnuevo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bolívar Horcajo came out of the goal and Zabal Barnuevo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Xever Ruidiez was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute, Xever Ruidiez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Omar Constante got free with Macias Herrasti in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Fleitas Lemus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd minute, Zabal Barnuevo made a precise shot to the right of Bolívar Horcajo. CD Huertopamba's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. When Peter Escalona came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the CD Huertopamba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peter Escalona couldn't finish the play. Xever Ruidiez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Macias Herrasti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fleitas Lemus took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bolívar Horcajo. Bolívar Horcajo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zabal Barnuevo during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 85 played minutes UD Sabaloma got a freekick which was hit by Zabal Barnuevo. Xever Ruidiez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vigil Obispo got his second yellow card in the match during the 89th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 89th match minute, UD Sabaloma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vigil Obispo to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The UD Sabaloma fans cheered their team off the field, for while CD Huertopamba had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
