With a little luck, Kaizer Chiefs's Campos Retes got control of the ball when Xizavier Manzarias tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 17th minute Zarbonin Falceto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zuzen Paracuellos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Campos Retes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José-Francisco Guau, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Víctor Olmedilla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Zuzen Paracuellos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Campos Retes went to the wrong direction when Luciano Merlo was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Urti Berdugo during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 33 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Apunte GOL! In the 35th minute there was a penalty for Kaizer Chiefs. Julian Castrejana stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Zuzen Paracuellos. 0-1. The supporters of Apunte GOL booed when Kaizer Chiefs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Azconzábal Lecubarri didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Coronel Olave had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kaizer Chiefs's Víctor Olmedilla got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Coronel Olave stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Coronel Olave had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zarbonin Falceto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zuzen Paracuellos having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Coronel Olave managed to get in a good position for a shot. Apunte GOL's supporters rose to their feet, but Coronel Olave was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Campos Retes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Apunte GOL's Coronel Olave got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Campos Retes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Coronel Olave's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Zuzen Paracuellos was a little too slow when Víctor Olmedilla got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 72nd minute. The score was now 0-3. After having played for 78 minutes, Víctor Olmedilla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kaizer Chiefs's supporters crossed their fingers, but Víctor Olmedilla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zuzen Paracuellos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Víctor Olmedilla in the 84th minute of play. The supporters of Apunte GOL booed when Kaizer Chiefs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Azconzábal Lecubarri didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kaizer Chiefs's Campos Retes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xizavier Manzarias in the 88th minute of play. Zuzen Paracuellos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Víctor Olmedilla in the 89th minute of the match. In the 91st minute of the match Julian Castrejana sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zuzen Paracuellos skillfully saved the ball. Xizavier Manzarias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Campos Retes having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Víctor Olmedilla managed to get in a good position for a shot.
