MACARA got a freekick which was hit by Xanti Ubilla. C.S.D. MACARA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Benitez the free kick. The supporters of Benitez booed when C.S.D. MACARA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramiro Sando didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 14th minute of the match Noriega Celaya sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hugo Jordana skillfully saved the ball. Marcelo Villamayor charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcelo Villamayor the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to C.S.D. MACARA getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Marcelo Villamayor hit a great ball. 19 minutes into the game, Benitez's Christobal Rico nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hugo Jordana made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After a rather tough play, C.S.D. MACARA's Urbano Fontao got a free kick in the 24th minute. Benitez's Humberto Laje got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hugo Jordana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christobal Rico in the 38th minute of play. Hugo Jordana came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Benitez's Christobal Rico. But to his dismay, Christobal Rico quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. Hugo Jordana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xacobo Arza in the 44th minute of the match. Xilo Cos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Urbano Fontao, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. After the first half Benitez were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christobal Rico couldn't finish the play. C.S.D. MACARA's Hugo Jordana proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save C.S.D. MACARA from getting a goal against them. 68 minutes into the match, C.S.D. MACARA's goal looked a bit too open when Humberto Laje came free, but Hugo Jordana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 70 minutes, Hugo Jordana successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The supporters of Benitez booed when C.S.D. MACARA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramiro Sando didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 89th minute of the match José-Luis Larreta sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hugo Jordana skillfully saved the ball. 91 minutes into the match, C.S.D. MACARA's goalkeeper Hugo Jordana had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Christobal Rico. With an all-out effort, Benitez's Hugo Jordana threw himself towards the right post 95 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Flavio Cianca, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Hugo Jordana was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Humberto Laje showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-7 in the 97 minute of play. Benitez played a much better game than C.S.D. MACARA and deserved their victory. The C.S.D. MACARA players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
