After having played for 3 minutes, Pablo Guceño managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Piezza Fútbol Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pablo Guceño was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. C.S.EMELEC's Humberto Arriba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alonzo Solorzano in the 9th minute of play. In the 12th minute Alonzo Solorzano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Humberto Arriba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wit Krzyżanowski got free with Marco Alcalde in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Humberto Arriba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pablo Guceño, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 20 minutes into the match, Piezza Fútbol Club's goal looked a bit too open when Blanco Collazos came free, but Marco Alcalde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Piezza Fútbol Club's Marco Alcalde proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Piezza Fútbol Club from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as C.S.EMELEC's Blanco Collazos slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marco Alcalde. That made the score 1-0 after 24 minutes of play. Humberto Arriba came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Piezza Fútbol Club's Alonzo Solorzano. But to his dismay, Alonzo Solorzano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After 33 played minutes C.S.EMELEC got a freekick which was hit by Wit Krzyżanowski. C.S.EMELEC's Humberto Arriba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pablo Guceño in the 34th minute of play. Texeira Doral hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Marco Alcalde showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Blanco Collazos, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Alonzo Solorzano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Arriba having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in C.S.EMELEC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 45th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Piezza Fútbol Club a penalty, 46 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Diya Tajid, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of C.S.EMELEC's Humberto Arriba. 1-2. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Blanco Collazos to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Piezza Fútbol Club's Diya Tajid got a free kick in the 55th minute. C.S.EMELEC's Wit Krzyżanowski got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 63 minutes into the game, Alonzo Solorzano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Humberto Arriba was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the C.S.EMELEC defense, Pablo Guceño kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Humberto Arriba. The C.S.EMELEC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Humberto Arriba should have stopped the shot. In a very dangerous position, a player in C.S.EMELEC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 77th minute. Penalty! After 79 minutes C.S.EMELEC's goalkeeper Humberto Arriba managed, with a little bit of luck, save Diya Tajid's penalty, on his right side after a tricky shot. In the 79th minute, Diya Tajid left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Piezza Fútbol Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-6. In the 81st match minute, Piezza Fútbol Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Texeira Doral to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Piezza Fútbol Club getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Luis Villaba hit a great ball. Marco Alcalde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Blanco Collazos in the 85th minute of play. In the 89th minute, Texeira Doral left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Piezza Fútbol Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-7. An unexpectedly hard shot by Blanco Collazos in the 94th minute of play forced Piezza Fútbol Club's goalkeeper Marco Alcalde to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of C.S.EMELEC booed when Piezza Fútbol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mora Comacho didn't get a good kick on the ball.
