Saritama Morante's late challenge caught a Caracol SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Saritama Morante helped the player get up and apologised. In the 11th match minute, Deportivo Libertad F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saritama Morante to maneuver through the defense. One of Deportivo Libertad F.C.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Caracol SC:s goal. Vitor Herbon walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 18 minutes into the match, Caracol SC's goal looked a bit too open when Zornin Trexo came free, but Xzavaier Vilas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Caracol SC's zone, Urko Navedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Xzavaier Vilas came out of the goal and Urko Navedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Caracol SC's Gustavo Llaria was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 32nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Esterilla Paza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iachetti Jorrin having to interfere. Iachetti Jorrin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustavo Llaria in the 41st minute of the match. Deportivo Libertad F.C.'s Iachetti Jorrin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Llaria in the 45th minute of play. A collision led to Deportivo Libertad F.C. getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Yiyo Septiem hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gustavo Llaria to make the kick off. Ulises Portela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Xzavaier Vilas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Caracol SC's zone, Urko Navedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Xzavaier Vilas came out of the goal and Urko Navedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Caracol SC fully deserved thier win.
