After 20 played minutes, CD Quimshi's Adolfo Plasencia shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Valery Berinduaga came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in CD Quimshi reached it. 20 minutes into the game, Elvis Valentin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Caldo de 31's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CD Quimshi the free kick. Xavier Oviedo ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the Caldo de 31 defense, Jairo Tuñon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valery Berinduaga. The Caldo de 31 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valery Berinduaga should have stopped the shot. Valery Berinduaga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xavier Oviedo in the 33rd minute of play. Trivniño Migolla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valery Berinduaga having to interfere. After 40 minutes of play, CD Quimshi's Jairo Tuñon made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Valery Berinduaga was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Jairo Tuñon in the 46th minute of play forced Caldo de 31's goalkeeper Valery Berinduaga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sergio Burell to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Gabriel Tostado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felix Rioseco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Trivniño Migolla charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Trivniño Migolla the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. CD Quimshi's supporters rose to their feet, but Xavier Oviedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valery Berinduaga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Geovanny Tejedor hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jairo Tuñon in the 71st minute of play forced Caldo de 31's goalkeeper Valery Berinduaga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gabriel Tostado struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Felix Rioseco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caldo de 31. Xavier Oviedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Jairo Tuñon kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Valery Berinduaga. That made the score 1-4 in the 94 minute of play.
