Ximen Valben showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fred Meireles, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. In the 17th minute Fred Meireles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ximen Valben saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnoldo Antuñano in the 21st minute of play forced AC Florida's goalkeeper Krister Bergdal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute, Orlando Cueto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Stratovarius fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 29 played minutes Stratovarius got a freekick which was hit by Texeira Urones. Fred Meireles struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Ximen Valben didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AC Florida. In the 38th minute Rodrigo Lamarta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ximen Valben saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fred Meireles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rodrigo Lamarta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ximen Valben having to interfere. If Morán Gurendes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 48 minutes into the match, Stratovarius's goal looked a bit too open when Morán Gurendes came free, but Ximen Valben reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Morán Gurendes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fred Meireles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Ximen Valben tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ximen Valben was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 69 minutes, Rodrigo Lamarta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AC Florida's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodrigo Lamarta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 72 minutes of play, AC Florida's Morán Gurendes made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ximen Valben was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by David Kyrst in the 85th minute of play forced Stratovarius's goalkeeper Ximen Valben to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When David Kyrst came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the AC Florida fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Kyrst couldn't finish the play. AC Florida made a substitution. Fricson Torrez replaced Leoncio Antoñana. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, David Kyrst managed to get in a good position for a shot. AC Florida's supporters rose to their feet, but David Kyrst was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ximen Valben breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ximen Valben showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Kyrst in the 95th minute of the match. AC Florida walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
