An unexpectedly hard shot by Vinícius Junior in the 8th minute of play forced Manchester Quito's goalkeeper Blanco Reboiras to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Emiliano Liquiñano came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Calvi FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emiliano Liquiñano couldn't finish the play. Blanco Reboiras made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vinícius Junior in the 10th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Santos Valdero in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Blanco Reboiras saved Manchester Quito from getting behind. In the 21st minute Vinícius Junior shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Blanco Reboiras saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hernan Gorria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 24 minutes into the match, Calvi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Hernan Gorria came free, but Mariano Cruz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Santos Valdero notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Manchester Quito's Blanco Reboiras. Mariano Cruz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hernan Gorria, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Manchester Quito's Blanco Reboiras played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emiliano Liquiñano in the 41st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Manchester Quito's Raul Grijalba got a free kick in the 41st minute. Espinoza Lena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Mariano Cruz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vinícius Junior was the one to do the kick off. When the match clock showed 59 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Vinícius Junior sped through Manchester Quito's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Blanco Reboiras. Santos Valdero received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Blanco Reboiras came out and tried to block the shot, but Santos Valdero slotted it home off the left post making it 0-6 in the 63rd minute. When Oswaldo Erran fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Manchester Quito's protests and gave Oswaldo Erran a yellow card for diving instead. The Manchester Quito fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Calvi FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
