Díaz Olaiz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Valines in the 41st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastián de la Rosa in the 42nd minute of play forced Atletas de Cristo's goalkeeper Díaz Olaiz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sebastián de la Rosa made a kick off. Sebastián de la Rosa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Díaz Olaiz made a huge save. In the 70th minute Samaniego Moraza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Quelia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 75 minutes of play, Atletas de Cristo's Pablo Sisalde made it 3-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Miguel Quelia was left in no man's land by his defense there! With his leg Díaz Olaiz managed to avoid a goal in the 78thth minute, when CD KMIKC's Maximiliano Valines fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Atletas de Cristo were furious when Diego Proaño was red carded, 86 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 85th minute, one of Atletas de Cristo:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Atletas de Cristo. Díaz Olaiz had in the 87thth minute some difficulties stopping Maximiliano Valines's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After some careless play in the Atletas de Cristo defense, Sebastián de la Rosa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Díaz Olaiz. The Atletas de Cristo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Díaz Olaiz should have stopped the shot. Sebastián de la Rosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Díaz Olaiz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Atletas de Cristo's Díaz Olaiz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to save Atletas de Cristo from getting a goal against them. CD KMIKC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
