Liga de Quito's Silvio Morelo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Liga de Quito from getting a goal against them. Bobby Dheedene struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Silvio Morelo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Equidad. After 17 minutes, Dennis Tabliega mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Liga de Quito and the Equidad players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 17th match minute, Liga de Quito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dennis Tabliega to maneuver through the defense. Jose Sayago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Equidad's Andrzej Zagrodny slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Silvio Morelo. That made the score 2-0 after 23 minutes of play. 27 minutes into the game, Bobby Dheedene recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Silvio Morelo. Bobby Dheedene showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. A collision led to Equidad getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Neicer Carretero hit a great ball. In the 38th minute Peter Somonte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvio Morelo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bobby Dheedene struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Silvio Morelo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Equidad. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Peter Somonte was the one to do the kick off. In the 60th minute Bobby Dheedene shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvio Morelo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st minute, Jose Sayago got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 62nd match minute, Liga de Quito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dennis Tabliega to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Liga de Quito's zone, Agah Usta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silvio Morelo came out of the goal and Agah Usta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Equidad booed when Liga de Quito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabian Herbias didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Liga de Quito's zone, Mauro Albiz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silvio Morelo came out of the goal and Mauro Albiz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 67 minutes, Jose Sayago managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Equidad's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jose Sayago was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Victoro Garrote got free with Feliciano Natanael in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 73 minutes into the match, Liga de Quito's goal looked a bit too open when Andrzej Zagrodny came free, but Silvio Morelo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, Peter Somonte notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Liga de Quito's Silvio Morelo. Silvio Morelo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 79th minute, Mauro Albiz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Silvio Morelo was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. When Equidad's Bobby Dheedene in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 86th minute Bobby Dheedene shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvio Morelo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peter Somonte scored 9-0 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Silvio Morelo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Silvio Morelo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peter Somonte in the 95th minute of the match. Silvio Morelo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bobby Dheedene, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There was no doubt that Equidad were the better team. Equidad's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
