Kaviedes Flames showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cumbicus Homar in the 11th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Guayllabamba's zone, Astor Nesto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marques Barona came out of the goal and Astor Nesto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Guayllabamba's Rene Bermeo got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 18th minute of the match Ponc Buiza sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marques Barona skillfully saved the ball. Marques Barona showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Astor Nesto, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. After 20 minutes, Narciso Vasco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guayllabamba and the Leoncios Sporting Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 21 played minutes Guayllabamba got a freekick which was hit by Narciso Vasco. Astor Nesto hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. When Astor Nesto came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Leoncios Sporting Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Astor Nesto couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cumbicus Homar in the 26th minute of play forced Leoncios Sporting Club's goalkeeper Kaviedes Flames to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Astor Nesto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marques Barona was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. Marques Barona came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Leoncios Sporting Club's Ponc Buiza. But to his dismay, Ponc Buiza quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Astor Nesto in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marques Barona prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marques Barona showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ponc Buiza in the 37th minute of the match. Marques Barona came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Leoncios Sporting Club's Astor Nesto. But to his dismay, Astor Nesto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 41st minute, Cumbicus Homar fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 42 minutes into the game, Bruno Auchter was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Leoncios Sporting Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guayllabamba the free kick. In the 44th minute, Astor Nesto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Astor Nesto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Marques Barona tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

With a little luck, Guayllabamba's Marques Barona got control of the ball when Victor Gerica tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Leoncios Sporting Club fans' excitement grew in the 93rd match minute when Leoncios Sporting Club's Oswaldo Araújo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-6 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The Guayllabamba fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Leoncios Sporting Club were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
