With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vitin Cagigas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Miguel Cabada scored 0-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vitin Cagigas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Juan Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Miguel Cabada fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vitin Cagigas having to interfere. Vitin Cagigas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan Almeida, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 39th minute, Juan Almeida left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The supporters of Fuerza Amarilla booed when Emelec SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacinto Barboa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vitin Cagigas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roldan Peñalba in the 64th minute of play. If Xosepe Hilari had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. Miguel Cabada received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Vitin Cagigas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Xosepe Hilari could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Vitin Cagigas made a huge save. Fuerza Amarilla's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
