Seating: 1852, VIP seats: 160) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Macías Botello got the match started through his kick off. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Emelec SC's goalkeeper Vitin Cagigas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Macías Botello recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Macías Botello in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vitin Cagigas saved Emelec SC from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Macías Botello took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Vitin Cagigas to make any attempt to save it. With a little luck, Emelec SC's Vitin Cagigas got control of the ball when Macías Botello tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 18 minutes, Macías Botello managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Miguir's supporters crossed their fingers, but Macías Botello was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Macías Botello took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Vitin Cagigas to make any attempt to save it. After a defensive mix-up in Emelec SC's zone, Macías Botello stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vitin Cagigas came out of the goal and Macías Botello tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emelec SC's Vitin Cagigas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Emelec SC from getting a goal against them. In the 31st minute, Macías Botello left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Miguir fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Emelec SC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Macías Botello 33 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 4-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Cortez Ibern kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Vitin Cagigas. That made the score 5-0 in the 36 minute of play. Emelec SC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 39th minute, when Macías Botello scored to the left of an out of position Vitin Cagigas, making the score, 6-0. 44 minutes into the game, Macías Botello recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Vitin Cagigas. Macías Botello showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 7-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 7-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Roque Martino made a kick off. In the 50th match minute, Emelec SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roque Martino to maneuver through the defense. In the 55th minute, Macías Botello ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vitin Cagigas was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. Vitin Cagigas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Macías Botello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Miguir's Cortez Ibern got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Macías Botello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Emelec SC's Vitin Cagigas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Macías Botello in the 65th minute of play. Macías Botello took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vitin Cagigas. Vitin Cagigas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-0. When Miguir's Macías Botello in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Emelec SC's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Emelec SC booed when Miguir was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cesar Artigue didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 84th minute of the game Orfilio Campelo made a throw-in which Ximenes Palma played forward. When Orfilio Campelo fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Emelec SC's protests and gave Orfilio Campelo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 85th match minute, Emelec SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orfilio Campelo to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Macías Botello managed to get in a good position for a shot. Miguir's supporters rose to their feet, but Macías Botello was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vitin Cagigas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zumar Sampedro's late challenge caught a Miguir's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zumar Sampedro helped the player get up and apologised. In the 88th minute, Zumar Sampedro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vitin Cagigas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Macías Botello in the 93rd minute of play. There was no doubt that Miguir were the better team. Miguir's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
