Jeremias Antecha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Washington Gorbea in the 7th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cántaro Barbera got free with Jeremias Antecha in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Dundee UTD booed when Tangaiche was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Franklin Barboa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Tangaiche's goal looked a bit too open when Zambrano Juanes came free, but Jeremias Antecha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aurelio Bosch scored 1-0 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jeremias Antecha, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jeremias Antecha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aurelio Bosch in the 20th minute. Blanco Orejas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ubaldo Belber in the 21st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Washington Gorbea in the 24th minute of play forced Tangaiche's goalkeeper Jeremias Antecha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Tangaiche defense, Zambrano Juanes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jeremias Antecha. The Tangaiche fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jeremias Antecha should have stopped the shot. Aurelio Bosch's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jeremias Antecha firmly grabbed it by the left post. Washington Gorbea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeremias Antecha having to interfere. Darío Gayferos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Blanco Orejas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Darío Gayferos went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. In the 37th minute, Yánez Traslago hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 41 minutes into the match, Tangaiche's goalkeeper Jeremias Antecha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Torres Socobio. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Torres Socobio to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Yiyo Ratra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremias Antecha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Blanco Orejas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ubaldo Belber, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 60 minutes into the game, when Cántaro Barbera put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Dundee UTD fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 59th minute. Penalty! When Franklin Barboa came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Tangaiche fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Franklin Barboa couldn't finish the play. When Washington Gorbea fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dundee UTD's protests and gave Washington Gorbea a yellow card for diving instead. Washington Gorbea kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Jeremias Antecha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Washington Gorbea, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Torres Socobio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dundee UTD's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Ubaldo Belber 83 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-3. In the 88th minute of the match Dundee UTD got a corner. Tangaiche's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Zambrano Juanes ran over to the corner to take the kick. Washington Gorbea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeremias Antecha having to interfere. Jeremias Antecha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Torres Socobio's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. The Dundee UTD manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Tangaiche to win.
