The crowd rose to their feet as Mauro Mendaza kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Blanco Orejas. That made the score 1-0 in the 4 minute of play. When Walter Oquerruri fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AKD Eagles's protests and gave Walter Oquerruri a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to AKD Eagles getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Walter Oquerruri hit a great ball. Rodrigo Lerma kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Alvaro Ramila took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torres Socobio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Washington Gorbea in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alvaro Ramila prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Blanco Orejas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nacho Pangua in the 16th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Washington Gorbea in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Walter Oquerruri was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 22nd minute. AKD Eagles's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Dundee UTD's Blanco Orejas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walter Oquerruri in the 22nd minute of play. 23 minutes into the match, Dundee UTD's goal looked a bit too open when Walter Oquerruri came free, but Blanco Orejas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dundee UTD's Blanco Orejas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Dundee UTD from getting a goal against them. Nacho Pangua received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Blanco Orejas came out and tried to block the shot, but Nacho Pangua slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 27th minute. AKD Eagles's Alvaro Ramila played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Washington Gorbea in the 30th minute of play. After some careless play in the AKD Eagles defense, Torres Socobio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alvaro Ramila. The AKD Eagles fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alvaro Ramila should have stopped the shot. The supporters of AKD Eagles booed when Dundee UTD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferrer Balaunde didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ibarra Bonachea could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Blanco Orejas made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in AKD Eagles's zone, Torres Socobio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alvaro Ramila came out of the goal and Torres Socobio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Blanco Orejas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ibarra Bonachea, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Blanco Orejas came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by AKD Eagles's Ibarra Bonachea. But to his dismay, Ibarra Bonachea quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. 68 minutes into the game, AKD Eagles's Walter Oquerruri nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Blanco Orejas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Washington Gorbea in the 71st minute of play forced AKD Eagles's goalkeeper Alvaro Ramila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. During the 72nd minute of the match Walter Oquerruri completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Walter Oquerruri a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 73rd match minute, AKD Eagles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walter Oquerruri to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute Nacho Pangua shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Blanco Orejas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Blanco Orejas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ibarra Bonachea in the 79th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the game, Ferrer Balaunde was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dundee UTD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AKD Eagles the free kick. In the 81st minute, Ibarra Bonachea left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AKD Eagles fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1.
