Juan-Alfredo Villabel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victoriano Vagrande in the 9th minute of the match. In the 10th minute, Victoriano Vagrande left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC KODONÍSO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Renán Caspe's late challenge caught a Guayacanes Fútbol Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Renán Caspe helped the player get up and apologised. Renán Caspe hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 22nd minute Victoriano Vagrande shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan-Alfredo Villabel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jaramillo Asencion received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Juan-Alfredo Villabel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Victoriano Vagrande had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th minute Jaramillo Asencion shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan-Alfredo Villabel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jaramillo Asencion received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Juan-Alfredo Villabel came out and tried to block the shot, but Jaramillo Asencion slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 35th minute. Juan-Alfredo Villabel made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Jaramillo Asencion sent off a good shot on target. 42 minutes into the game, Victoriano Vagrande recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Juan-Alfredo Villabel. Victoriano Vagrande showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. With splendid footwork Jaramillo Asencion arrived in front of goal to shoot 4-0 by the left pole in the game's 47th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jaramillo Asencion made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jaramillo Asencion in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Juan-Alfredo Villabel saved Guayacanes Fútbol Club from getting behind. Juan-Alfredo Villabel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jaramillo Asencion's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. When Jaramillo Asencion came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the FC KODONÍSO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jaramillo Asencion couldn't finish the play. Juan-Alfredo Villabel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaramillo Asencion, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Juan-Alfredo Villabel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaramillo Asencion in the 66th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Renán Caspe managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC KODONÍSO's supporters rose to their feet, but Renán Caspe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juan-Alfredo Villabel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Jaramillo Asencion had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Victoriano Vagrande might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Juan-Alfredo Villabel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Victoriano Vagrande ran back to his position shaking his head. FC KODONÍSO's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
