Sao FC's Teofilio Ubago played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zornin Albalate in the 30th minute of play. Tenorio Alzorbe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cotera Cañas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ataulfo Enciso having to interfere. If Jairón Obana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cotera Cañas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 43rdth minute, Ataulfo Enciso skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Cotera Cañas did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Ataulfo Enciso 45 minutes into the match. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mauricio Barreneche to strike the kick off in the second half. When Pedro Borjas fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick.
