The audience was convinced that Mauricio Barreneche's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Peter Portochao was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Ataulfo Enciso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xzaiver Argandona in the 40th minute of play. Norberto Archuleta charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After 43 played minutes Sociedad Deportiva León got a freekick which was hit by Norberto Archuleta. Ataulfo Enciso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xines Teran in the 47th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcelo Alcubilla made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Xines Teran fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The crowd rose to their feet as Sociedad Deportiva León's Xines Teran slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ataulfo Enciso. That made the score 1-2 after 52 minutes of play. Sociedad Deportiva León's Xzaiver Argandona pulled a muscle in his leg after 60 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Asensio Gordo kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. The supporters of CD Ceilan booed when Sociedad Deportiva León was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Garviras didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 66th minute, Tenorio Alzorbe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ataulfo Enciso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 85 minutes into the match, Sociedad Deportiva León's goal looked a bit too open when Zornin Albalate came free, but Peter Portochao reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rafael Parada hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Xines Teran recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A hard shot by Kléber Londoño from long distance, 95 minutes into the match, got Ataulfo Enciso's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side.
